  • Don't always catch these magic moments on video
  • Don't even see it every time it happens
  • But we can still tell which ones have strobed ...

  • Watch far right bulb in video
  • is what happens after strobing
  • bulb doesn't go out
  • it just gets dim

41 Seconds between Sump Pump Cycles

Dry or wet, rain or snow, sunny or cloudy, sump pumps evacuate water all year long. Captured this one going off every 41 seconds (pump turns off at 3 seconds in video, turns back on at 44).

In a downpour it will do this for hours, take 24 hours to slow down to a few times per hour, and a week to slow down to just a couple times a night.

During winter snowmelt, it will start a couple of days after the snow is gone and then evacuate up to six times at night for days in a row.

After weeks of silence and hot, dry weather, it will suddenly start evacuating water for a couple days for no reason at all.

Can’t be good for the foundation. But is worse for trying to get some sleep!

Can't fix what it looks like - "It's the fault of the framer"
